Keri Miki-Lani Schroeder: The Dusky Seaside Sparrow Project
A Virtual Gallery Talk
Wednesday June 30 at 3 PM Eastern
Live on Zoom Webinar with video following on the JCBA Vimeo Channel

Keri Miki-Lani Schroeder’s project as JCBA’s 2019-2020 Salzberg Artist in Residence follows the tragic tale of the dusky seaside sparrow. In this presentation, Schroeder discusses the complicated history of this extinct Floridian bird, Cape Canaveral, wildlife conservation groups, and Disneyworld. Her year-long creative journey to bring the book to fruition involved visiting the last dusky seaside sparrow to perish, interviewing ornithologists, and reflecting on the ways in which humans utilize and impact the environment.

Join us via Zoom Webinar for the talk (registration is required) or watch the Facebook Live simulcast at JCBA Facebook page (facebook.com/jaffecenterforbookarts). Video will be available after the live broadcast at JCBA Vimeo Channel (vimeo.com/jaffecenter).
